Changing User Security

Note: To change a user's security profile, you must have Security Rights.

To make changes when adding a new user security profile, see Adding Users in User Security – Change command option.

To make changes to an existing user security profile, use the instructions below.

1. When you first enter the User Security option a Select A User window will display with the following options:

• EXIT – Select EXIT to exit the User Security option and return to the User menu.
• ADD A USER – Select ADD A USER to add a user.
• PRINT LIST – Select PRINT LIST to print a security list of user security rights.
• A list of users currently defined in the system.

Select the user that needs to be changed from the list of users.

2. A Security Rights window will appear, listing all security rights currently assigned to the user.

To change a security privilege, scroll to the security category and function description line and press Enter to change or toggle security assignment. Press F9 for a brief listing of system functions controlled by the security privilege. Refer to User Security Privileges for definitions of rights. When the appropriate rights have been assigned to the user, press F10 to continue.

3. Command options will appear:

• User Change – Select User Change to change the user name. Change the name and press Enter. Select Update to save the changes to the user name.
• Security Change – Select Security Change to return to the Security Rights window and make additional changes to the user's security profile.
• Delete – Select Delete to delete the user.
• Update – Select Update to save changes to the user's security profile.
• Exit – Select Exit to return to the Select A User window that appears when you first enter the User Security option.

Select Update to save your changes when finished.
